Weekly Favourites: Apartment Edition

I have recently moved into an apartment close to campus, which is a major milestone in my life. This is the perfect opportunity for me to share all of the favourite purchases I made for my apartment. I have been using them for about 2 weeks now, so I think I’m pretty qualified to talk about them!

Here are the items I think are worth it:

Rolling/Adjustable Dresser

The dresser I bought stacks, meaning every shelf can be removed or added back, depending on your preference (shown in picture). It also rolls, which is very helpful when cleaning and makes it much easier to change your bedroom layout whenever you want.

It’s also fun to decorate it with stickers, notes, and other whimsical editions. I believe adding something that brings you joy every day is always worth it!

Rolling Cart

I have a 3-tiered cart that’s very useful for storing things that you don’t use every day. It rolls around so you can move it close to your desk when you need it or push it out of the way when you don’t. I use it to store my arts and crafts, notebooks, and extra school supplies. I would also recommend getting bins, so everything is extra organized, as things easily move around and get lost in the larger shelves.

I purchased mine from Michael’s more than 5 years ago, and it goes with me everywhere, from my home to my dorm last year and now to my apartment.

Foldable drying rack

I have a fear of shrinking my clothes, so a drying rack is the perfect solution for me. But, they are usually very large and take up a lot of space. A foldable drying rack is the perfect solution; it can easily fit in between furniture, out of your way.

Jewellery Organizers

I am jewellery’s number 1 fan. In order to see what I have (which is quite a lot), I need it to be organized in a functional and visually appealing way. I bought a set of the organizers pictured on the left and put in my most worn pieces so that they are be easily accessible to me on the daily.

I have a huge problem with putting away my jewellery, usually leaving it on my nightstand, which is a horrible habit. These organizers make it so easy to put anything from rings and necklaces away, that it has completely eradicated that habit.

Space Saving Hangers

Like jewellery, I am also a clothes’ lover. Living in a small apartment means having a small amount of closet space, so these hangers are a lifesaver, not only a space saver. I can easily fit five pairs of pants or skirts on one hanger. I suggest purchasing both the hanger specifically for pants (pictured on the left) and the one with clips for skirts and shorts (pictured on the right). I also highly recommend these for everyone, not just people with limited space, as they are so convenient.

Hanging Shower Caddy

My shower caddy specifically attaches to the shower rod, which saves space, requires no set up, and is renter-friendly. I got mine from HomeSense, but Walmart and other stores have similar options.
